Arte dell’Anima Association lauches cultural project „YOU ARE NOT ALONE”
Arte dell’Anima Association is happy to announce the implementation of a new cultural project dedicated to young people. The “You are not alone” project took place between July and November 2021 and is a project co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration during session II / 2021, Performing Arts - Theater section.
"You Are Not Alone" is an educational project of research and artistic creation, starting from a topic of maximum relevance to the current context: increasing depression and anxiety among young people and adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the project is to raise awareness among both the adolescent public and the general public about the problems of anxiety and depression that young people face with.
Studies conducted several years ago showed that by 2030, depression was likely to become the leading cause of death. Meanwhile, there were: pandemics, lockdowns, isolation that accentuated these conditions. In several countries, the number of suicides caused by depression and anxiety was higher than the number of SARS-COV-2 deaths. In Romania, before the pandemic, estimates said that up to one in five Romanians had suggestive signs of depression. In 2021, this number has doubled in our country.
For the first stage of the project, we are waiting for your stories on the e-mail address: teatru@artedellanima.ro until July 30, at 17:00! If you are between 14 and 35 years old, tell us if you experienced depression or anxiety during the pandemic and not only, how they manifested, if you asked for specialized help, how you overcame this moment. The winners of the 10 selected stories will benefit from a personal development workshop through theatrical techniques at the Arte dell’Anima Theater with a specialized trainer.

We are looking for actors & actresses aged between 18-26, students of the theater faculty or young graduate actors, to be part of the team of the new show of the Arte dell'Anima Theater.

Stage 1: CV submission + 2 recent photos (portrait + full plan) at: teatru@artedellanima.ro; Deadline: 17.08.2021, 17:00. Those selected will be invited for the second stage, no later than Wednesday, August 18, at 10:00.
Stage 2: The casting will take place on August 19 and 20 at the Arte dell'Anima Theater in Făinari Street, no. 17 D and will consist in reading a monologue at first sight.

The show tells the story of five friends who approach each other through a seemingly harmless game. Things get out of hand, and their lives change when they run into a tragic event. "Is there life after death?", "Do we live and die alone?" and "Who's to blame?" these are just some of the questions he is facing, trying to figure out how to get to that point. By addressing current issues such as depression, anxiety and their effects, a show is outlined that talks about the emotions, thoughts and problems of today's teenagers.
